Hi matt,

bin vor kurzem auf dein Video in youtube gestoßen und war begeistert. Habe mir die VC-Vers. 08.25de runter geladen und beschäftige mich jetzt damit ;-)
Ich würde sagen, jitterjames hat da super Arbeit geleistet und alles Freeware. (Danke an jitterjames!)
Im möchte mit VC später einen HTPC steuern (mit EG konnte ich mich noch nicht anfreunden) und mit VC funktioniert bis jetzt alles super (Desktop-PC Win7-Ultimate 32bit)
Um TV-Programme zu schalten habe ich sendkeys benutzt (Bsp. - Phrase "ProSieben" - Sendkey "1, 3" - Sendkey "{ENTER}" funktioniert bestens.
Bei Musik funktioniert alles wie in deinem Video, was mir aber noch fehlt wäre die direkte Songauswahl "spiele Titel - tears and rain" oder auch "spiele Musik von - james blunt - Titel "tears and rain". Lässt sich das umsetzen?
Jitterjames hat dies mit MediaMonkey umgesetzt, hast Du einen Tipp für mich?

I will look into playing songs by name, but it is not as straightforward to implement as it is with XBMC or MediaMonkey

Note that for TV channels you can use a command like this:

play-tv <A string representing the call sign of the service to play, or channel number>
[edit: forget that - it looks like the play-tv command is not supported any more]

and you could use a PayloadXML file with a list of your favourite channels in it.  I don't have TV or a TV tuner so I cannot test this.

mmhhh... war jetzt ne weile nicht aktiv diesbzgl. da ich eigentlich noch keine befriedigende Lösung ohne Headset gefunden habe.

Das was du willst geht doch aber schon ?!? In meinem Video was du ansprichst (Thx 4 credit) zeige ich es doch auch, oder?
Ich muss mir mal die Tage die aktuelle Version ziehen und die *.xml auf deutsch umschreiben dann können wir uns ja noch einmal austauschen

due to the limitations of the VMC plugin*, I can't figure out how to create a command that allows you to select a song directly by saying "play song xyz".  However, I think it is possible to first select an artist, and then create a command at that time that would allow you to select a song by that artist.

so for example you could say:  "Play artist David Bowie"

then wait (probably not more than a second or two)

then say play song "changes".

This could also be done by first selecting an album, and then a song from that album.

I am experimenting with it.  In a way it is better because loading all the songs from a large library when starting VoxCommando can be a bit slow and consumes more memory.

*Note that the VMC plugin does allow me to read all songs and the ids of the songs and then to ask for a song by id, but for some reason the song that plays is usually not the correct song.  There appears to be a bug in the plugin.

ich selbst nutze zwar nicht WMC sondern XBMC, aber Tests mit Deutscher Spracherkennung
direkt Titel oder Interpreten zu nennen, schlagen, zumindest bei mir, leider i.d.R. fehl,
da es sich vor allem bei Musik überwiegend um englische Titel handelt.

Die Deutsche Spracherkennung hat da nat. Probleme.
Und die eigentlich englischen Bezeichnungen dann deutsch auszusprechen klingt nat. dämlich
und klappt auch meist nicht.

Hatte hier irgendwo im Forum deshalb auch schon mal gefragt, ob man in dem Fall Deutsche
und Englische Spracherkennung irgendwie sinnvoll mischen kann, würde die allg. Bedienung
schon weiterhin in Deutsch haben wollen.
(Leider ist ab Win7 bei der Home Version auch eh nur eine Spracherkennung nutzbar, "offiziell"
lässt sich keine weitere installieren, was bei Vista wohl möglich war).

Perfekt wäre nat., wenn die Spracherkennung in Echtzeit erkennen könnte, ob es sich um
englische Begriffe handelt und in dem Fall dann auch die engl. Spracherkennung nutzt, aber
das wird wohl nicht funktionieren.

VC in der letzten Version lässt ja bei mehreren inst. Sprachen nun die Wahl der Spracherkennung zu.
Viell. ist es ja möglich, speziell bei der Suche nach Musiktiteln, die ja eh fast immer englisch sind (zumindest
bei mir) die engl. Spracherkennung zu nutzen (vorr. man hat diese zusätzlich installiert).

gute Idee, also müsste man einen Befehl voranstellen ähnlich "change to english" (makro wechselt zu englisch).
Unter Win 7 gibt es die möglichkeit ein Nutzerprofil zu wechseln, weiss aber nicht ob dies ohne Neustart von Windows und VC geht.
Teste es mal heute Abend ;-)

Also meine Trefferquote bei Interpreten ist sehr hoch. Was wirklich schlecht ist, die englischen Titel und so weiter per TTS in Deutsch ansagen lassen, ohje... ;-)). Es langt auch meistens, wenn Du nur ein Wortteil benutzt. Bsp.: Du suchst Interpret R. Kelly - "spiele Musik von Kelly" und dann sollte die Optionsauswahl kommen.

I don't think it would be practical, but you can run two instances of VC at the same time.  One in English and one in German.

You can select any language in VC options, as long as  you have the language pack installed.

Both languages would need to be running on the same speech profile.  I don't know how Windows would react to that.  It might be ok.

in deinem Video funktioniert es nur mit dem Interpret. "Spiele Musik von  Sarah Connor" und dann geht es weiter mit "runter, runter ..."

Eine andere Lösung als das Headset wäre ein "Voice Tracker Array Mikrofon", ist aber nicht ganz billig (250 EUR), dafür wohl aber genau das richtige.

it was a good idear with running two instances of VC at the same time, and it works for me :-)
I start VC 0.825de and 0.833MM each in prefix-mode with different prefixes. VC 0.833MM for playing music and VC 0.825de for Video and TV in german language, and it works perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My question:

How do I rate the songs with VC in MediaMonkey?

Great.  I'm very happy to hear that that works for you.  At some point I would love to see a video of bilingual VC in action!
